Come join the Maritime Museum's experienced program staff for adventure camps in a great location. Our four-acre campus provides a fleet of watercraft, lots of exhibits and workshops, and equipment for snorkeling and robotic exploration. Don’t miss out on these opportunities of a life time!

Burlington Shuttle ·
MORNING - 8:30am: Departs from the current Hannaford's supermarket off of Shelburne Rd in South Burlington. 8:50am: Departs Shelburne Supermarket.
AFTERNOON the shuttle arrives at Shelburne Supermarket at 4:05pm, and at Hannaford off of Shelburne Road in South Burlington at approximately 4:30pm.
Middlebury Shuttle
MORNING - 8:50am: Departs the Bridge School parking lot. 9:10am: Departs Vergennes Park and Ride (RT 7 and 22A). ·
AFTERNOON the shuttle arrives at Vergennes Park and Ride at 3:50pm, and at the Bridge School at 4:10pm.
We have an early drop off / late pick up option for our site in Vergennes. Students can be dropped off as early as 8am and picked up as late as 5pm. Early drop off is $40/week and late pick up is $40/week.

One And Only Fish Camp

In this week-long adventure with our fishy friends you will learn about cool fish adaptations and anatomy. You'll also learn to snorkel, make fishing rods, use seine nets, and cast a fly rod. This will be the highlight of your summer with underwater cameras, a Remotely Operated Vehicle and great new friends!

Basic Boating Certification

Basic Boating Certification is all about giving you the skills to handle the helm! This week-long course is an exciting sampler, featuring rowing, paddling, sailing, and handling small engines. Explore everything from leaving the dock to handling a worst-case scenario. You can even receive a VT Boater's Card to certify your knowledge. Get out on the lake this summer!

18th Century Adventure

Sailors and soldiers! Spend a week in the 18th Century learning all the skills of life in the army and navy of the Colonies. Explore real artifacts from the time period in the Conservation Lab, learn to march, row, sew, navigate the land and the water, work with knots and rope, and explore copper, bronze, pewter, and iron in the metal shops. After making fire with flint and steel we will cook our meals over an open fire from 18th century recipes. Our week will culminate with a Wednesday overnight aboard the Gunboat Philadelphia II. Families can join campers beginning at noon on Thursday to celebrate Independence Day, enjoy an 18th century lunch, and share what campers have learned.
Note: No camp on Friday, July 5th.

Heavy Metal Mania

Back again by popular demand!! Want to play with red hot metal and hit things really hard? This sampler will give you a taste of the ancient arts of pounding iron, melting bronze, and shaping sheet copper. Work with your hands, get dirty, make fascinating things, and take them home. In between metal projects, we’ll cool off with swimming and games.

Build Your Own Adventure Robot

Build a custom Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to explore Lake Champlain! Assemble, solder, and wire a SeaPerch ROV and learn to fly it over the mysterious bottom of Lake Champlain. With your own creation, you will discover how useful an ROV can be as we study shipwrecks and aquatic life. Don't worry about getting too attached to your SeaPerch - at the end of the camp, you can take it home!

Wooden Boat Building

Each camper will build their own 15’ wooden flat bottom canoe and learn to use it safely. We’ll learn about the sciences and skills that go into boatbuilding, and have a great time doing it! These one-of-a-kind boats are yours to keep! This camp has only 6 spaces available!
